It is not completely inletted but very close. One full military dress in a like new stock and the other fully sporterized configuration. It is sanded and ready for finishing if one wants a military texture. This stock came well packaged and it is beautiful. I won’t be buying another of these stocks, but I’d buy the hand guard again. This should make for a nice looking, hard hitting rifle. The Remington barrel was made during WWII but is still strong & bright. It consists of a post WWII National Ordnance receiver and mostly surplus USGI parts. Stock bands don’t even come close to fitting. In the position that the base was afixed, the gallows arm of the sight covered the clip seat, so the rifle could not be used in rapid fire stages.
